Mr. Wasantha Wijesekera, Director of CAHM, graduated from the Sri Lanka Law College and took oaths as an Attorney-at-Law in 1985. He has been in active legal practice for over 40 years and is also an alumnus of the University of Colombo.
Mr. Wijesekera specializes in Industrial Law and has also practiced Civil, Corporate, and Commercial Law in both original and appellate courts. He has served as a legal consultant to leading companies, advising on corporate legal matters.
Mr. Wijesekera’s leadership skills have contributed significantly to his success as both a lawyer and an administrator. He is a Vice President and the immediate past Honorary Secretary of the Singhalese Sports Club, the premier sports club in Sri Lanka.
He has served as President of the Sports Council at the University of Colombo and has received University Colours for Tennis and Badminton. He also captained the Badminton and Tennis teams at the University of Colombo and at the Sri Lanka Law College.
Mr. Wijesekera has also served as Vice President of the Sri Lanka Lawn Tennis Association, Manager of the Sri Lanka Davis Cup Team, Director of Hotel Ceylon Inns Ltd, and as a Trustee of the Charles and Roselyn Elders Home.
