Starting Hospitality at 15 years old with Mc Donald’s, Steven’s Hospitality career now spans over 37 years, travelling to 45 countries linked with hospitality passion, presenting at International Conferences, being educated in South Africa in the early 90’s when the pillars of Apartheid were destroyed. Employed and living in Sri Lanka since 2013, observing hope and growth in Tourism, Government upheavals, curfews, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, Covid-19, economic crisis but the proud emergence of a resilient industry rebounding all the time – Is the Passion and True Hospitality that makes all Rewarding.

Steven studied Hospitality at the William Angliss Institute (WAI) completing numerous qualifications (an Alumni WAI). Whilst studying, Steven worked at the Lincolnshire Arms Hotel (Duty Manager) at the age of 19 followed by Centra on the Yarra (SPHC Group) in various positions, gaining education training experience.

In 1998, Steven was employed as ‘Training Officer’ – Australian Hotels Association (Victoria) with Clubs Victoria, training industry employees on legislative practices in consultation with the Victorian Government on Alcohol, Gaming, Wagering and Food Safety.

In 2001, Steven was transferred, agreeable by AHA, Clubs VIC, Tattersall’s and Tabcorp to work neutrally for all four organisations, supported by William Angliss Institute, as the Compliance Manager, where up to 20,000 people annually completed Compliance/ Short Courses. Steven remained linked to Government/ Private sectors in Compliance becoming the Victorian Representative of NAGS (National Association of Gambling Studies).

For over 25 years, Steven has worked for and continues to work with WAI. In 2013, Steven taught for WAI at CAHM in Sri Lanka and in 2014, was appointed CEO at CAHM and then the Centre Director at CAHM.

In recent years, Steven’s position has developed into Education Compliance/ William Angliss Institute Resident Representative – Sri Lanka.

Steven’s passion in Sri Lanka is for all to be empowered, developing skills sets to go places in the Hospitality Industry whilst maintaining Australian Quality Education Standards and all legislative requirements for the William Angliss Institute Qualifications offered in Sri Lanka.
