The Culinary Art Food Expo, Held on the 28th, 29th and 30th of July 2017, was said to be the largest of its kind in South East Asia. This bi annual event has been recognized by the world association of Chef’s societies (WACs) and is judged by the WACs approved professional and is a platform in identifying the talents of chefs around the country.
The Colombo Academy Of Hospitality Management in partnership with William Angliss Institute, had the honor of sending a contingent of 9 students to this event and as students who competed, it was a great opportunity to showcase their culinary talents and to compete alongside the industry’s professionals which was both exhilarating and humbling.
The William Angliss student team from CAHM, was headed by Aldrin Shu alongside Chef Kapila Jayanetti, Chef Samantha Surene and Chef Harsha Alahakoon, three pillars in the culinary world and after 180 days of grueling hard work, high stress levels and emotions running high, the 9 students were able to achieve, 2 silver medals and 6 bronze medals in total being the highest haul from the WAI student team from CAHM to date.
Congratulations !
